Labradoodle Supplies
My friends and customers often ask me about Labradoodle Supplies like what I feed my dogs, use for flea prevention, how often I groom, etc. A lot of dog ownership is a personal preference but I’m happy to share my experiences with you and tell you why I like each product. The Australian Labradoodle is bred to be a healthy dog. Responsible breeders are doing a lot of genetic testing before a dog is considered for the breeding program and one thing that is still working in the favor of Labradoodles is that they are not AKC register-able, so not able to compete in dog shows. Why is this a benefit? Breeders can focus on health, temperament, and structure. Because we are starting off with healthy dogs we just have to keep them that way.
Here are a few of the Labradoodle supplies that I like and use in my home along with links to pages on the Chewy site. This page does contain affiliate links, I only recommend tools I have personally vetted.
I feed Purina Pro Plan Adult Shredded Blend Salmon & Rice Formula Dry Dog Food dog food.
I use Revolution Flea treatment. I have used it for many years and started because it is tested as safe for breeding dogs. It is a topical treatment used once a month. I only recommend topical treatments, never oral! It also prevents ear mites and heartworm. I have found that this works very well for me in this area.
As my customers all know, I give my dogs and puppies NuVet Plus. This product is designed to fill the gap between commercial dog food and what your dog needs for enhanced immune support: vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes. I start the puppies on it as soon as they begin eating food and my dogs all get 1 tab per day. I also use the NuJoint Plus for my oldest boy Bear. It has made a significant difference for him.
I use crates for all of my dogs, young and old. They generally like going in and I always put treats in them. They don’t all sleep in their crates, but I often put the dogs in when I leave the house or when I have families visiting to pick out their puppy.
I use a slicker brush when I brush my dogs.
I am using Skout’s Honor Probiotic products. There are many different scents and formulas so you can select your favorite. I personally buy the gallon size because I wash a lot of dogs. I like the lavender scent a lot and I have finally found something that keeps my stinky Dreamer smelling good between grooms.
I use two kinds, Skout’s Honor Probiotic ear wash is the one I have near my bathing supplies and I clean ears each time I give a bath.
And I use the TrizUltra which I keep in my office along with a handful of cotton balls so that I can clean ears when I think about it or need a break from computer work. I feel that this product is more effective if your dog is prone to ear build up or on the verge of an infection.
My dog’s love these dental chews. I hand out 1-2 per day. True Acre Foods, All-Natural Dental Chew Sticks, Original Flavor
